
British-born, Nigerian-raised artist Yinka Shonibare has a new exhibit on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art. Whether you make it there or not, you should at least know about it.
In all of his pieces, the subjects are headless. Shonibare's art contains references from across the globe and combines details that span centuries. Among this varied explorations of contemporary issues: water shortages, climate change, class, race and exploitation.
